The way I became a Ranger and have earned the small amount of success I have had in life has been mostly due to one quality - determination. Lefty.

Welcome to ArmyRanger.com. I must say that your intro was a little weak. How about telling us a little more about yourself and your military career. Thanks for your service to our great country.

Hello again,
Thanks for the welcome gentlemen and roger that on the Lower Alabama (LOL). Please pardon the "weak" intro, always the quiet professional I guess. Pushups and flutterkicks have been completed.
Well, I joined the Army in Apr'89 with no clue as to what I wanted to do/be. An older friend of mine, who was an Army vet told me that he always looked up to Rangers when he was in, so I figured "what the hell". I went down and signed up as a 29E (electronic/radio repair) with airborne and ranger options. Did BT at Jackson and AIT at Gordon (7mos.). Arrived at Benning Jan'90 for ABN and RIP. Went to RSD at Rgt where I carried more radios than I repaired. Anyone at the regiment at the time will probably remember me as the "redneck" that helped everybody on their vehicles when they needed it. I went to Ranger school in Aug'91 and graduated in Oct. class 11-91. Honorably discharged as an E-5 in May'92.
Looking back, the time I spent in the Ranger regiment was probably the most influential 2+ years of my life and I was priveleged to cross paths, work with and work under some very good men.I'm really thankful to be part of such a great family!! RLTW
