First let me start by saying Thank You Rangers for your time in service and for this site
My name is Robert and currently in the NG 1/134 BSB Red Bulls . MOS: primary 63M secondary is 45G . I joined in November of 2007 at the age of 35, basic was at Ft Sill, OK AIT was at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. I want to switch to active Army. Did the NG first to see how well my family adjusted to Army life while at basic/AIT (9 mo. total) my wife and children did very well while I was away. My first year in the military I screwed up my knee (dislocated it) ended up having ACL reconstruction (my ACL had to be replaced)this year in January. 20 years ago this was a life altering injury (especially in sports) , today it is not. My doc just released me to run at my own pace a month ago. I just took my APFT 2 weeks ago passed it with 66 pu's 56 su's and the big one 18' 11" 2mile I just barely passed. I know it is slow but as I run more I get faster and will get back to low 14's. I continue to work hard to getting my score close to 300. I am committed to this goal and know that I will make it. Right now I am taking baby steps 1 goal at a time until I am ready to goto RASP/RS.
I want this and understand the risks. I love the the brotherhood that you Rangers share and feel this is where I belong. I know I will not find this any where else.
Before anyone tells me I cant make it because of my knee read this article: http://www.armytimes.com/news/2010/09/a ... ys-092510/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
My goal is to become a Ranger and I will make it. I look forward to reading your posts and Thank You again Rangers
I hope to one day covet the Honor of calling myself a Ranger and stand next to you brothers in arms
