SITREP

Post by disposition »

Rangers (& other gentlemen),

Haven't been able to post since I shipped for Basic 02 Sep 2009. I completed Basic at Ft. Benning in good shape, raising my PT score from 220ish as a civilian to a 264. I shot Expert, certified Combatives level 1, and got the most I could out of everything there.

I'm currently at Ft. Sam Houston completing 68W training. 15/18 weeks complete. The last 3 weeks are a 2 week FTX and a week of briefings and out-processing. Completed the course-work with a 93.62%, and hopefully will be chosen for honor graduate. PT score as of 3 weeks ago was a 262. 65 push-ups, 70 sit-ups, 14:15 minute 2 mile run a few days after recovering from pneumonia. Balancing PT and studies is a bitch, but in the last few weeks I've been adapting and overcoming. I've been doing as much research as I can to prepare myself, both for RASP and SOCM, as well as the PT to get the 10 extra push-ups and sit-ups and 1.5 minutes I need.

I leave for Airborne on April 12th. Following that, RASP.

I'm being given the opportunity to render care to and work with the best men in the military, and there isn't a damn thing in this world that will make me quit. This site has been invaluable to acquiring every last bit of knowledge I can. Thank you, Rangers.

Sometimes the soldiers that are going onto other schools get put in a hold over status for awhile at their AIT company in Ft. Sam. Could be 3 weeks of a lot of freedom. Just make sure you stay focused on your end goal. I don't know how old you are but anyone who has been to Ft. Sam knows the tempting things of San Antonio, RIver walk...

The way I became a Ranger and have earned the small amount of success I have had in life has been mostly due to one quality - determination. Lefty.
