Rangers, veterans, and guests:

I am an active duty soldier, currently serving at my second duty station. I recently transferred from Fort Drum, New York after serving in an infantry battalion in the 10th Mountain Division for over two years. This period included a deployment to Afghanistan. This site has been an extraordinary resource for learning about the 75th Ranger Regiment and the history of the United States Army. I registered in order to say thank you to all the Rangers and veterans of the board who have contributed their knowledge to a public forum and provided motivation and information to soldiers like myself.

Having recently re-enlisted after falling on orders to a new duty station while on deployment, I have researched (via this site as well as through a retention NCO at the 75th Ranger Regiment) the opportunity to obtain a RIP slot. I have been told that I must wait at least a year at my new unit in order to gain that chance. In spite of this delay, I anxiously look forward to and am preparing for the opportunity to demonstrate that I'm worthy of a spot in the 75th Ranger Regiment.

Thank you for providing this resource to soldiers like me. It's an invaluable place that I constantly use to update my knowledge and maintain a high level of motivation for my goal of earning a spot in Ranger Regiment. Thank you for your service and the sacrifices you have made to safeguard our way of life.
