Airborne Inf to Rangers?

Rangers,

Since I don't have my citizenship I'll be joining the Army this year and also go to Airborne School. My question is, when I get my citizenship next year, how would I be able to join the Rangers? And do I have to finish my contract with the unit I'm first in order to do so? My recruiter told me that all I had to do is go to Ranger School and then request to goto RASP?
