Congrats!!! Any tips on how it was obtained? I can't get my recruiter to do anything. I have called 3 recruiters trying to obtain 68w option 40 or any mo with option 40. Maybe they will call in the next few days.

Who are you congratulating wildman? Surely not the SF/Ranger Admin with more time in a T-10 than you have in a T-shirt.
Situational awareness is your friend.

I would never recommend that you sit back and wait for this to come to you.

Why don't you ask to talk to this dude's chain of command. Tell them that you know he's full of shit? Or go to ever fucking recruiter in a 50 mile radius?
It amazes me how quickly some of you begin to despair when a couple of dudes tells you "NO". What happens when you really encounter a challenge?

Ranger Invictus,

I am not sitting around waiting for this to happen. I am making changes in my life so i can wait longer. I have contacted 3 recruiting stations which are within a 200 mile raidus. All of them tell me to take what has been offered or "find employment elsewhere." I am now contacting a recruiting station in Austin, TX to inform them, I will sign a contract without any incentives as long as it reads 68w Option 40.

With upmost respect,

ZoneIV speaks the truth, neither the war nor our Regiment is going away soon.
Slots open and close all the time. A Ranger medic decides to reup for where he is & your Opt 40 to replace him disappears.
Also, if you are lied to, and can prove it, as one recent hopeful tells us he is ("Option 40 is being eliminated"), ask how to contact the Recuruiting Command I.G. - Inspector General.
Use that option wisely & make sure you're right.

After taking the asvab and everything I scored a 70 and he said that the job I wanted (33W at the time) was not available to me. I told him either I get that job or I am not signing and I will leave. He looked at me saw I was standing my group and was like uhh uhh....hold on let me make a phone call.....told them the exact words I said.....with in 5 minutes, I had the MoS.

As the Rangers on here have said, Tell them, Option 40 or your walking.....or ask to speeak to another recruiter. Sounds like someone doesn't want to do the extra work to get you what you want, and just wants you to sign to make his qouta.

SitRep- My Recruiter called a few minutes ago and informed me that an Option 40 was available this morning, but was snagged up by another future soldier. He will be calling the ROC every morning now untill I get one. I have high hopes for the future. Thanks again Rangers
