Hello, Rangers! My name is Alex, I'm 17. I graduated high school this past May at 16 (graduated in three years) from Clay High School, Ohio. I have aspirations of becoming a US Army Ranger and I have been looking over this site since this summer trying to become as prepared as possible. I spoke to a recruiter early during my last year of high school and as soon as I turned 17 (October) I started on the paperwork..currently, I am still working on the paperwork! To make a long, painful, story short..I have been medically disqualified for service by the MEPS medical people, but (according to the recruiter) that is an automated response and my papers are currently being looked at by the Surgeon General. I was "disqualified" because of a poor diagnosis from a psychologist I saw in early June. I will be happy to divulge more details on all of that but I see most introductions are rather short, so I will try to keep this as short as possible. My recruiter says nine out of ten times the Surgeon General will clear me to go take the physical and have a consultation with a MEPS mental health specialist. So! With a little bit of luck, I will be cleared for MEPS by next week.
I would like to secure a 68W w/ Opt.40 contract, with my second choice being 13F. I have been working on my PT since this summer and these are my scores:
-Pushups=50
-Situps=52
-2 Mile Run= ~15 minutes (I am using mapquest to give me an estimated two mile track on the road)
Thank you for your service, Rangers! Thanks for reading! (sorry for length)
