Introduction- Ralph

Post by insidecntr »

Rangers,

Thank you all for the creation of this site as well as the wealth of information you have made available through it's use. I am very grateful. Also, thank you all for your service to this wonderful country. Because of men like you, we (meaning civilians) can sleep soundly at night. I have been and will continue to use this site as my bible for the next few months.

My name is Ralph and I recently graduated college with a bachelor's in History. I have been an athlete all my life; football in high school and rugby through college. I have taken the ASVAB and my recruiter is in the process of securing and 11x Opt40, which seems to be taking some time. He tried to talk me into signing a straight 11x with the hopes of being offered airborne and rip, but thanks to this site I did not. This is the path I have chosen, after much thought and research on this site. One day I hope to join your elite group of warriors.

Invictus,
I'm from New York, an hour north of the city, but working with my recruiter from college who's right outside the Boston area. I stayed with him because he began the process with me up there and is a good guy.

Thats Ranger Invictus to you, wildman.

Ya might not wanna make THAT mistake again.

Decent intro. Just tighten up your shot group a little more and pay attention to detail.

If you are lucky enough, Ranger Bill or Ranger Leroy will come along shortly and have some damn good advice for ya.

I would HIGHLY suggest that you listen to what these two Rangers have to say.

I have two words for you: NEVER QUIT !!

Ralph, you need to do some work on your running. Now, please tell us where you went to school and what you majored in. If you truly want to earn your place in the 75th Ranger Regiment, you came to the right site. Never, never quit!!!

Ranger Jim,
Thank you for the advice, running is my focus, as well as the pushup program under the PT section posted by Ranger Silverback. PT 2-mile max is 12:59 I believe, and that is my goal. I attended Stonehill College in Easton, MA. It's a small, liberal arts school. I think about 2,400 students. I majored in History with a concentration in European history, which was a dumbass decision because I turned out to enjoy American much more. I hope to find a mentor once I become a DEP, as the board says I must wait until that point, but any more advice would be much appreciated.
