Welcome, Ranger...
My tenure in the Batt was so long ago I have no idea what the "best" way to do things is now, or how they handle incoming E5's. Plan on getting smoked for a while at the beginning, tho, would be my first bet. I doubt they're going to let an E5 languish around waiting for something to do, tho, so be ready to hit the ground running. Sounds like you already have, with that attitude. Keep your head down.
