Hello Rangers. I just got back from MEPS today, with my asvab results. I was very disappionted with my one, line score & and that was the GT. The rest of my line scores qualified me for almost all of the jobs the Army has to offers, Intelligence, all Mechanical jobs etc..

GT 97 CL 95 CO 104 EL 1O5 FA 103 GM 106 MM 115 OF 1O6 SC 103 ST 101.

I went back to my recruiters office, and he called the ROC to see if he could do anything. The ROC said no. I really feel I have what it takes to become a Ranger. Do any Rangers have any advise for me, to obtain an opt 40 contract? I am not an ignorant person, just not a good test taker in the math department.

We had a 45 yr old Spc from the Tn Guard come thru Pre Ranger. Dumb as they come but harder than 10,000lbs of jaw breakers

Thanks Rangers. I have a ASVAB study book, I'm not working right now. I have some cash flow issues at the moment. I should take Ranger K.Ingraham's advise and become a trash collecter, to earn some money for a math tutor. I'll keep you Rangers posted on my progress.

Hello , Rangers. It's been some time since I last posted on this fourm. My update. Today 7/14/2009, I just deped into the U.S Army as 11x opt4. I have tried to get the option 40 for some time now , but it has not worked out in my favor. As stated previously I'm 34 so time is not on my side, I wanted to get in before things change with max enlistment age, as it did recently with the guard. My ship date is 10/13/2009, I asked for a mentor awhile ago, & Ranger Bill stated when I sign the dotted line I might be able to receive a mentor. I hope this offer still stands, even though I do not have an opt 40 contract?. I have been reading this fourm , and from what I have read some people with the passion of becoming an U.S Army Ranger, like myself, have had luck obtaining the opt 40 with a little help. I would appreciate any help I can receive.
