Re: Canuck Ranger seeking classmates
Had a Canuck LT and MasterCPL in our class. The MasterCPL failed land nav both times and was sent back to Petawawa....while the LT (the RI's called him Potato Head) went on to be the honor grad. That was class 11-80.

Got a question for you though, what's the difference between the Canadian Abn Wings with the White Maple Leaf and the ones with the Red Maple Leaf?

If memory serves me...The red is worn by real life Canadian Paratroopers, the white if for everyone else who qualifies for the wings.

You got it backwards, red for the abn qual'd and white for the real paras! The American Army should have something similar in my humble opinion. Too many 5 jump chumps walking around pretending to be a real paratrooper!Silverback wrote:panthersix wrote:Got a question for you though, what's the difference between the Canadian Abn Wings with the White Maple Leaf and the ones with the Red Maple Leaf?

Or you didn't jump with the Canucks! I got the red maple leaf after my qualifying jump with the Canadian Airborne at their 25th Regimental Anniversary back in '93 (I think). Then I went with a different unit and I jump mastered the Canadians for their American Jump Wings and on the DZ one of the Canadian Para's gave me a set of white maple leaf cloth wings for JM'ing them.Guess my memory didn't serve me..
I was thinking of sewing them on my Travis Bickle jacket.......

Re: Canuck Ranger seeking classmates
Panthersix is correct. I served with the 2nd Para Regiment back in 1989 and we jumped 3 times with the Regiment as part of the Regiment so they awarded us the White Maple Leaf Version.
