Quick update, passed Pre-Ranger, recycled Darby, passed Darby on the second time and passed mountains first time. Now I'm on Christmas break with Flordia phase to go.

Brigade Commander said it was the worst weather he's seen in mountains since he's been here. I think we had 2 guys that got frostbite, one I know of for sure.

Ensure you dry out your feet and stay in shape. Coming back off Christmas-break can be very difficult.

You notice Lefty and I are both summer Rangers.

I thought the required TA-50 for school was K-Pot, Rubber duck, and a COCK SOCK!

Best of luck and only advice is don't screw your Ranger buddies in school and DON'T get into pissing contests with the R.I.'s, that generally doesn't end too well for the students!

I agree with the CSM about dry feet, but being in a similar class (Christmas break before Mtns.) Get FAT! The swamps can be cold and no body fat can make you miserable! They say that you are allowed to graze while you at that phase but don't risk it, it's not worth you losing your tab over. It's all there waiting for you at the Gecko Lounge, (I guess the Gator Lounge was a victim of fire) get your SHIT!

How long did it take you guys to get your strength back? I know for a fact right now, girl scouts could whoop my ass. I went to the gym and I could barely bench 150, before RS I could bench 205.

How the hell do you keep dry feet in Florida? I had immersion foot up to the ankles at graduation.

Took me a good 5 weeks to get upper body back. Running took another 6 months.

"The next stage of their journey was much the same as the last. As they went on the gully became ever shallower and the slope of its floor more gradual. Its bottom was less stony and more earthy, and slowy its sides dwindled to mere banks. It began to wind and wander. That night drew to its end, but clouds were now over moon and star, and they knew of the coming of day only by the slow spreading of the thin grey light.

In a chill hour they came to the end of the water-course. The banks became moss-grown mounds. Over the last shelf of rotting stone the stream gurgled and fell down into a brown bog and was lost. Dry reeds hissed and rattled though they could feel no wind.

On either side and in front wide fens and mires now lay, stretching away southward and eastward into the dim half-light. Mists curled and smoked from dark and noisome pools. The reek of them hung stifling in the air."

Welcome to Florida, and have fun...

Graduated this past friday, class 02-09, finally glad its over. Florida was actually pretty fun, we had a really good platoon and worked together very well. In my platoon we only had one ND, one patrol recycle and one peer recycle.

Gator Lounge was really nice, I never had so much candy and cake to eat in my whole life.
