While at the recruiters, milk those NCOs for everything you can about how administration works in the Army, and every little thing they'll share about what they do out in Big Army, you never know what might be useful - it can be a good learning experience.
Recruiting is simply another sales job. See how they do that too. When you eventually appear before promotion or soldier of the month boards, you'll basicaly be 'selling' yourself.
You're off to a good start with a great attitude!
