How's it goin - I'm Eric, currently am 17 (18 on June 28th) and am finishing up my last classes needed for my highschool diploma.
My school is considered a Tier-2 school (thanks a lot sally struthers..) because it is correspondence (though it's real coursework, since it's still correspondence, it's considered Tier-2). Thus, I am unable to select a job and swear in at MEPS until either my recruiter has the school switched to a Tier-1 school, or I have a highschool diploma in hand.
I will be enlisting around the second week of September, with a friend, in the buddy program (who already has an Option 40 contract setup, we will just have to renegotiate ship dates). Not going to accept anything lower than 11X/ABN/OPT40, and am not going to give up on training at any time.
I look forward to getting to know all of the Rangers, Soldiers and US Veterans here, especially because you all tell it like it is, no conformist crap.
Eric

Thanks Rangers, and SFC hit_it - my recruiter is connected in some ways or another, he knows one of the people in charge @ the education processing office of the army (or whatever its called..), and can get them to do an on-site visit to the school building for a review. Once they do that, they would clearly see (this is a private school out of PA, accredited by NAAS/DETC/NCAA) that the school isn't just a simple test, as it involves extensive coursework.hit_it wrote:explain this.recruiter has the school switched to a Tier-1 school,
Would then benefit the other people joining the Army that would be coming from my school, too.
Hope this helps,
Eric
