,
Tanner, 37, had blogged ominously about his trip into the desert to "cleanse."
Dead is as "cleansed" as you can get!

I agree; but, I still don't understand why he couldn't make it back to camp.Silverback wrote:By thinking you're a tough guy and not respecting the elements.ANGRYCivilian wrote:2 miles from his campsite? HTF do you die from exposure within 2 miles from your campsite?
I have never considered myself a tough guy; but, I have been in that type of situation, actually, probably worse, and lived.

I know a guy who has been a Virginia State Park Ranger for twenty some years, teaches all kinds of outdoor/ hunting classes in his free time, professional and very capable. He almost succumbed to hypothermia while deer hunting within sight of his vehicle.ANGRYCivilian wrote:2 miles from his campsite? HTF do you die from exposure within 2 miles from your campsite?

Well...was he on a one mountain top looking across 8 miles of Virginia terrain while he was in sight? Or was he within crawling distance? If crawling distance, please tell him he is a pussy. If line of site, you can drop the pussy part and call him a quitter.Flesh Thorn wrote:I know a guy who has been a Virginia State Park Ranger for twenty some years, teaches all kinds of outdoor/ hunting classes in his free time, professional and very capable. Wellllllll, it's about 120 on a cool day during that time frame, AND, the tool had no water...........or gas..........or brains.............or common sense.........which usually leads to people dying 2 miles from camp............or within sight of their vehicle............
