What would be your favorite knife to own?

Here's my new slicer:

It has 408 layers of steel, mammoth ivory scales, and ti liners. It's also my design. I drew it up, and contacted Bill Buxton several months ago about building it.

He is a MFF instructor at YPG now. I'll see if I can get some contact info for you. I got one of his knives when I went through RS. Carried it on my vest until I ETS'd.

You ain't gonna believe this but saw the Random name Donny Cartwright above and had to post these pictures of my walking stick. "Scully" as I came to call him started life as a scrub oak at Darby. I cut him with my leatherman on a patrol with stud's one day while waiting for the PL to pull his head out of his 4th POC during a security halt.

I later carved, sanded and laquered him to us as a walking stick.

Fast Froward to Ft. Benning EIB in '95 or '96 me and Donny were RI's (He was brought up from florida) detailed to run the SAW station at the EIB site.

He got bored and started carving my walking stick to its current state as shown in the pics. He is a talented SOB and I have not seen him since?!

BTWx2....He had some additions over time....the rhinestones in his eyes, then later I painted the DUI that Donny carved, then added the tab, then I found a casing from the 25mm round of a Bradley that I cut down and put in the tip to keep him from being worn down. I even tried to add a rattlesnake skin for a handle but could not get the skin to cure correctly. Later in life I cut scully in half to insert the metal middle of a guidon so I could break him down and shotgun his ass into a M1950 weapons case so he would no longer be a "G" Ranger. He is he a full "V" Ranger and also over time he became a Fast Roped/SPIES'd/CIB wearing/Helo ridin'/retired full on Ranger walking stick

Don't cry over spilt milk Kevin, but the loss of a nice blade? Crying would be acceptable and consoling would consist of copious amounts of beer and a good bar fight.

Ranger Doc......I actually called Victorinox about the black handles and was told that they are available and can be put on any model upon request for little or no extra money.... If they should not be available in the US, PM me and I'll see what I can do.

Not a defense blade, but an excellent working blade in a hospital/Pt care environment (also my be nice for you JM's) is theboker rescom. I use mine almost daily. Very safe to use around patients. I can quickly cut a gown, tape, dressings etc. I have numerous converts in my department (used to carry trauma scissors, now just the Rescom.
