Don't want to start to annoy anyone and am reading the physical forums, but would anyone know with my PT score being 210 am I below avg. or? Basically just wondering what my PT should be around for entering BCT, Airborne, and/or RIP. Any advice would be helpful. Still going to keep busting myself regardless of the recommendations on scores. I don't want to reach for the req's, but set the standard. Lead by example! Just curious, thanks again as usual everyone.

Because you ship very soon - I'll go ahead and answer your questions. However, you need to get on the mentorship program for this type of stuff.

Your answer:

It depends.

If you want to compare yourself to the median young man entering the Army - you're above average. If you compare yourself to the median young man entering RIP - you're behind. I suppose we shouldn't discuss what Ranger standards are. Suffice it to say that you aren't there.

You have time between now and shipping to improve. You'll have time in OSUT and BAC to peak. Don't overwork, but don't get lazy about it.

Oh - you need to hydrate. Georgia is experiencing record heat right now. Drop coke, coffee and alcohol. Drink water and gatorade only. A quart of pedialyte every other day will do wonders.

Good luck.

Solid advice from Ranger 42L5V right there. Take it to heart.

23? I was 30 when I completed RIP. Hope that answers your question.

Rangers and DEPs,
Thanks again for all the advice, also to Ranger 42L5V. Completed PT test today and felt very accomplished but am by no means stopping or letting up on the training. Anyway the results were 58 pushup's, 50 situp's (which still suck I know), and 13: 50 on the 2 mile. PT score jumped from 210 to 235. Need to work on ab's I know, so guess it's time to hit it. Heading down to OK for a week to see family before I ship so any PM's, etc. probably won't be answered until Monday after the 4th. Going to workout down there also, as it'll hopefully help transition me into the heat some for Georgia. Thank you all.

Rangers and Deps,
Well my friends, it's nearing time to shipout (4 days to go). Wanted to thank everyone one last time for the advice and guidance even if wasn't direct (other forums). Wish you all the best, and I'll never quit on my path to becoming a ranger!
