So I was at an Iron Maiden concert...
And this fucking animal is leaping over people, not using the regular asile, but literally hurling himself over seats and people to get to the rail of the Lodge section.
He was a crazy fucker wearing a big ass glam wig. As he passed by my buddy and I someone in front of us shoved him and he went down on the seats and concerete arena floor like a sack of shit.
Amazingly he sprung right back up, and instantly resumed what he was bent on doing...reaching the rail. For some reason, about 5 minutes later, he appears in our row and ends up next to my buddy. My buddy is a Marine but got out many years ago. Anyway, they start to talk and I hear the word "Ranger". So of course, I go into instant poser check mode.
I ask him what unit he was with (I am wearing my big 82nd Airborne shirt). He replys 2/75 Rangers, Ft. Lewis. I am thinking, this fucker just might be crazy enough to be the real deal. And while those thoughts are running through my head, the fucker COINS me! :o
Now people who know me well know that I never go ANYWHERE without my coins. So I tell him he is buying the beer because I got my coins! So I begin to pull mine out and so does he. Unfortunately, he is somewhat inebriated and DROPS his fucking coin!! So we all go down looking for his coin because losing your coin would suck! Luckily I find it for him!
Well meeting a fellow paratrooper who has Ranger creds is pretty damn cool, so I tell him that he should join my website (USP) (sorry always fishing for good members :D), when he tells me he is already on www.ArmyRanger.com!
So what are the chances of that happening!? Anyway, it was cool hanging and head banging to Iron Maiden with Panzer275. You are one crazy fucker!!

They wouldnt let me take my camera in... :(
It was a great concert though! I just saw Iron Maiden about 6 months ago at the Forum and this time they came back with the full blown elaborate set and the 30+ foot tall mummy. [thup]
I am flying out to Denver soon to see Rush at Red Rocks in a few days. I am looking forward to that! I've never seen a concert at Red Rocks before. Luckily, one of my old platoon mates from the 82nd resides there and will join me for the show.
Then I fly out to the USP gathering! ahh its good to be on vacation! :D

Veteran ParaPete,
For this tour, are they playing a classic setlist as opposed to their new material? I'm not too keen on anything after Brave New World, but everything from Killers - BNW is great.
I always liked the Powerslave stage set with the mummy Eddie. I wish I was alive back then to see that tour.

Any chance of posting the tour dates?

Love the rock and roll I grew up with no only do you get good guitar riffs and drumming, the people watching is fun too; I wish I could have made that Iron Maiden concert and seen that
Not to hyjack this thread, but I had always wished I was born a few years earlier so I could have seen Led Zepplein live, thank goodness for audio and video reproductions.
Ok I'm done with this quick tangent.....
Have a wonderful Sunday. J

I'm not the way I am because I was a Ranger - I was a Ranger because of the way I am.

Most likely on both counts.Rock Island Ranger wrote:Darksaga wrote:Any chance of posting the tour dates?
