My Intro

Post by 240gunner »

There comes a time in every soldiers life where you have to decide whether to re-enlist or get out. If you decide to re-enlist, another decision must be made, do I want to sham out or try to be the best? Well I've decided to try out the SOCOM side of the house, starting with Ranger bat. I'm currently an E4 Specialist with 2 years in, I'm in 3-7 INF, 3rd Infantry Division. I'm currently in Iraq, I'm at the FOB for rest and refit right now (I'm not some pog ass fobbit, I have to go back out to my patrol base in a couple days where its nothing but patrols and security for weeks). I already e-mailed the 75th Ranger Regiment and they told me how to get a Ranger contract upon re-enlisting. I'm just waiting for the bonuses to go back up, because right now they're low (I got nothing but time, 9 months left on a 15 month deployment). I'm just here to ask questions about the Regiment. I'm not a shitbag and my PT is pretty high up there so I'm betting I'll make it past RIP.

X2 The PT is very strict, but fair. If you are in decent shape, it isn't so much your PT that will get you, its how well you adapt to and overcome maximum overdoses of stress.

Welcome to the site. I wish you well in your endeavors. Good Luck getting into Regiment. And by 'good' I mean always give 100% and by 'luck' I mean never quit.

Welcome. Remember that it’s not only PT but the will and drive you have. If you re-enlist then good job. If you make it past RIP then again good job. Remember that after getting to Battalion is when the real work starts.

By the way are you airborne qualified?

Negative. Though that should be taken care of in the re-enlistment contract.

As a soldier serving in a war time Army, you should be proud of all your current accomplishments.

As for your perception of a shit bag or not and assuming that you'll pass RIP, pehaps you get that knocked out before making assumptions?

Make it and we will agree with you, fail and we could probably call you a shit bag.
