It's the man behind the gun

Post by johng »

we lived on a small farm and rats would get in the hay mangers. I called my Dad (ranger from Korean war), he came out side, pulled his twenty two snubnose pistol from his pocket, this gun could'nt hit a barn door at point blank range, and he shot this rat between the eyes from ten yards away. the rat screamed and another rat jumped out of a hay manger twenty yards away and my dad shot him between the eyes at a dead run.
A shiver went up my spine at the thought of someone picking up a weapon and nonchalantly splitting hairs with it. Other than pest control he never pulled the trigger on an animal, hunting or otherwise. I think he'd seen enough, thinking back it seems as though he breathed in peace like we breath in air.

When I graduated Ranger school, my old man took me down to Victory Lane and we ended up banging two strippers together, he got the clap and I got the pictures...

I got cats in my barn. They fuckover the rats, if any. Now if the rats were returning fire that would be a good story.
