Good luck, to be blunt its going to be a bitch. Your best bet is going to be to deploy and towards the end of it request to be released. If your unit is not going to go anytime soon, volunteer (traditionally they won't fight that as much) and you will end up with a new CoC anyway. Good luck your going to need it.

Here's a few reasons why you’re not getting the response you want:

1. What exactly is your RRC's and unit’s policy on granting conditional releases? For instance, when I was under the 70th RRC, releases wouldn't be granted for units that are about to enter their ready year for mobilization. Now under the 63rd RRC, you have to spend a year in the unit upon coming back from BCT/AIT.

2. Most likely your CO/BC cannot approve your release; they can only give their recommendations with final approving authority being held at the RRC level.

3. Most likely you're not even officially part of the unit. According to your posts, you just graduated AIT less than a month ago. You're most likely still in the TTHS account. This means your unit doesn't own you but someone at the RRC level. In my experience, it's a pain to get you out of TTHS and into a slot in the unit. On that, the USAR probably still doesn't consider you MOS qualified as a packet must be submitted to the RRC to award you the MOS.

TTHS was created in my last few months as a recruiter for the sole purpose of tracking non MOSQ soldiers scheduled for training. The could not be released from TTHS by their units and if applying for active duty, their 368 had to be signed by the RRC Commander him/herself.

Hopefully, this guy's recruiter has made some connections.

That's the real deal. It sounds like the recruiter wants you to rock the boat because he knows he will get his peepee slapped if he goes poking around trying to work this.

Honestly, if you're not worried about repercussions, go for it. You're going to be on your own for a while, anyway.
