If you qualify and are told there are no Option 40 openings, simply thank them for their time, tell them that you are not interested in anything else, and ask them to contact you when an opening is available.

I was at MEPS monday and there were a few option 40's still available for shipdate FEB 7 have them call the ROC to see if they can also pull a billet for you.

Without a high school diploma you can not get an OPT 40. So you are wise to dismiss steven1234 suggestion & get a ship date for after you graduate high school.

Not that it's the same now, but it was EASIER to find OPT 40 contracts for father out when I was still recruiting. The projected training seats hadn't been filled by the rush of seniors that are going to enlist yet.

You are smart to do this early on, but you may have to ship this time NEXT year in rder to get what you want.
