SitRep

I’m currently living in a tent so our replacing unit could take over our living area. For the past several amount of days we have been training our replacements and I have been pushed harder then normal and kept much more busy. I do feel that I have failed myself in one way. I have only made time for PT a few times this past week; how ever I completed all tasks given to me and completed my missions out side the wire. I have also pulled my last mission out side the wire and due to completing all my tasks it’s now hurry up and wait to get home. This will give me a chance to bust my balls twice as hard in PT and continue to improve. Ranger Paladin1952 talked to a Recruiter and basically confirmed the fight to get a contract will not be an easy one. However, my father raised me to never expect anything to be given to you on a plate. I will do what all real men do and that is to earn it. My goal is just, I have worked hard and will continue to do so and also will hold strong to my faith. Some how I will succeed and when I do I will remember to thank those who were the stepping-stones along the way. I have also thought about something else long and hard. From the time I get home to the time I have earned the right to wear the Ranger Scroll, Beret, and Tab I will not drink outside my own home or living area (if allowed).

As for the weather over here, the whole country is a mud pit again. It sucks but its cool how someone can walk out side and gain two or three inches. It also snowed yesterday morning or two mornings ago. I can’t remember what day it was but it was the first time in 62 years someone said.

You won't drink out-side your living area?

Either quit drinking altogether or start drinking twice as much...but don't offer us half-assed resolutions.

Congrats on finishing your tour still vertical.

The United States Army has deiced that a 20 year old soldier with combat experience does not deserve a 92W (or any MOS) option 40 like a non prior service civilian does. The Army is forcing me to go with my back up plan. I am going to enroll into ROTC and get Airborne and Ranger School slots. However, this will not complete my goal of earning the Ranger Scroll. If there are any officers reading this please message me about how you became an officer with the Rangers.

Update:

I am being promoted to Sgt. on 11 July 2008
I am also going to college; just finishing my first semester with a 3.5 GPA at Western Michigan University. I also was given 13 Credit Hours for Mil. Service.
I also still have the dream to become a Ranger.

I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July.

Congratulations Sergeant. Good work on that 3.5 as well, assuming WMU is a decent school, that's a real accomplishment for a freshman.

To all---

I would just like to put out in the open that BonesTheUnforgiving is a very squared away young Buck Sergeant. He accomplished every task that I put before him and then some under some very arduous conditions over in the sandbox.
Just the kind of qualities that you would expect from someone who desires something that they were told that they cannot have and strive for it anyway. I tried through Ranger Rico and his recruiter to help get him changed to Ranger but alas it could not be. He will re-enlist to get his 11x option 40 or 68W contract when his current enlistment is up.
Expect to see Bones in RIP in about 18 months :D

I'd have to say other then getting shot in the head combat was fun for me!
That doesn't make me weird or sick does it?

Bones best to you in your pursuit, as a fellow Guardsman I feel your pain on trying to get school and such. Looks like I will have to re-enlist over in the sand box also to get what I want...

Head wounds can pretty much suck the fun out of anything.
