Hello,
My Name is Alex, and I am 23 years old. I live in North East Arkansas, and currently work at a furniture store doing deliveries. I am also an EMT (state and national registry registered). I have been reading this forum for almost 3 years now, and I made an introduction post back in 12/04 when I first got here ( viewtopic.php?t=7861&highlight= ). A lot of things have changed since my first post, including me. But the thing that has not changed is my desire to become an Army Ranger.
I have started a workout/running/diet routine in the last 3 weeks to try and help to get me to a higher level of fitness. I have always been overweight, but surprisingly not in the worst of shape. In the past three weeks I have lost 19lbs, and when I started, I was barely able to run a mile. Now I do 1 hour of cardio/weights (ironic, it is a class called "Fitness Boot Camp") in the morning, and run two miles in the evening. My run times are not very good, but I run my two-mile in 15:08. Although my run time is getting better every night, I know it still has a long way to come, as do I.
I plan on working on my PT times and losing a little more weight , then enlisting with an 11x option 40 contract, and nothing less. I know I am getting older and older every day, but from what I have read, the better shape I am in when I go into OSUT, the more I can use that time to become better prepared to reach my goal.
Thank you for allowing me to read this site, and take in all of the great information presented here. Now back to STFU and reading.

Welcome to the site. Thanks for your desire to serve our great country as an elite Army Ranger.
You seem to be aware of your shortcomings and are prepared to overcome them. Good on you.
You have age on your side still as you are still fairly young. You already know what to do, lose the weight and RUN, Forest RUN!!!!!
Good luck on your journey and read up on all the training tips on this site. Get the best pair of running shoes and did I tell you to RUN, Forest RUN yet?
