College while in the 75th.

Post by Monsoon »

I already used the search button, but could not find anything about this. I was wondering, can you get a college education while in the 75th? I am wondering this because my friend's brother is currently in SFAS, and said he was doing college in the army. If this is possible i would like to do this instead of go to college and then the army. Any information is well appreciated. Thank you.

Hope that helps a little.

he must be one time managing SOB. maybe he meant BEFORE SFAS. because he won't access to anything like that during SFAS.

Yes SFC hit_it, im sure you are right, by now im sure he's done with all the training. But I was just wondering how I should go about doing college while in the 75th, if possible. I also remember reading on a post somewhere and a Ranger said they had people in their Battalion do morning PT and then go to college the rest of the day.

Everyone who I have spoken with who has tried to EarmyU has told me the same thing. It is extremely difficult to manage time for the classes and to tend to our schedule. I haven't met anyone yet who has had the time to keep up. If you go to a regular unit like 3ID 82nd 101st or something of that nature you will no doubt be able to get college credits while being a soldier. But as far as doing it here, I would have to say it's not very likely. You are welcome to try though.

Thank you Ranger Disinfertention, I am much more interested in becoming a Ranger than getting a college education, it's my mom giving me shit about getting a college degree so when i get out of the Army it will be easier to get a job. But i would rather make the Army a career. Once again thank you.

Morooon,

It would be one thing to think about giving it a try during peace time. Did you not notice that the country is at war. Do you honestly think there are Rangers studying physics right now. NO. They are taking turns doin their job, killing camel jocky's. If you join to fight, then worry about fighting, fuck the education. Worry about that down the road.

Don't get me wrong, wanting to educate yourself is a great thing meant to better yourself. I am just trying to tell you that with the things the way they are in the world right now, do one or the other.

Guys, didnt you get college credit for the schools you took while in the service? I got damned near 50 hours and never saw a college. The Post Ed Center laughed when Rangers came in because there was no way in hell we could participate.
I even got credit for the race relations cources I was sent to......4 times! And I got 4 hours for "sensitivity training" which I was also FORCED to go to.

I'm not the way I am because I was a Ranger - I was a Ranger because of the way I am.
