My name is David. I am thirty-one years old and a high school graduate who is enrolled at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California.

The purpose of my visit is to your site is to research a former Ranger that I went to church with in the mid to late 80’s. He spoke to my conformation class after he returned home from Panama and also served with Task Force Ranger in Somalia.

Although I have no intention of enlisting in the Army, I self administered a physical fitness test for your amusement. The results are posted below.

2 mile run: 27:36
Push ups: 13
Sit ups: 47

Thank you all for your service to this great Country of ours and allowing me to be a guest in your home.

Questions that make us go hmmmmm????? Or WTF is really goin on

1. Why would you qualify yourself as being a High School Grad at 31 years of age........especially when you're attending college? At 31 years of age, High School is but a distant memory and we certainly don't give a fuck that you graduated High School or that you're in college.

2. Why would you post an intro here claming to look for a fellow Ranger that you went to church with yet you don't post his name to determine if he's a member here?

3. Why would you post your PT scores as if we actually cared how lousy they were when you're not interested in serving in the Military?

4. How could somebody speak at your church regarding Panama and Somalia in the "mid to late 80's" when Panama didn't happen until the 1989 and Somalia didn't happen until 1993?

and........

4. Why am I even wasting my time to respond to this idiotic post/intro?

Rangers,

The Rangers name in question is Ranger Mark L. He is no longer alive and did not want to violate any rules of this board by posting someone’s name with out getting permission first.
Ranger Mark L. was a member of my church (Grace Lutheran Church) in Huntington Beach, California when I was attending conformation there back in the mid eighties. After he came home from Panama, he talked to our class about the invasion, and the impact it had on him and others. He was a good man that many of us looked up to.

On the main forum page, under DEPS and other CIVILIANS, it clearly states to post your information and why you are here (including age level, highest grade completed, ECT. I read through some of the other threads to get an idea of what and what not to post. It looked like the majority of the people posting introductions included either and or high school and college, and I followed suite.

This is your house (The Ranger Forums) not mine; I am simply a guest on your board. I apologize if I made anyone angry or did not obey any rules here.

Respectfully,

David

Rangers,

Here is a link to our Church. They should have records of Ranger L's family there, along with pictures of his graduating conformation class.

http://www.gracehb.org/index.htm

I graduated from conformation May 27, 1990 and I believe mark was four to five years older than myself, so that would put his conformation graduation some time in the early to mid eighties and his high school graduation in June of 88 or 89.

I got a kick out of you posting your PT scores...thanks for that.

I think we're so use to dealing with mental midgets on here that someone half way intelligent and making an effort can come off as a prank.

Good luck David.
