I do get ten days permissive TDY starting tomorrow though, so I hope to get a glimpse of the Best Ranger Competition this year.

Welcome to the Ranger community young CA. Now pay attention to the mentoring of CH Strueker. He will square you away.

If you get a Ranger assignment, keep up informed. Who knows you and I may cross paths one day and work together as a Unit Ministry Team (UMT).

Keep the faith and stay focus on the details. Also, maintain a spirit of excellence in all that you do. Us chaplains need Chaplain Assistants (CAs) who are technically and tactically proficient to protect our hides. Your first priority is to be a Soldier then a minister amongst the ranks. Personally I would much rather have a CA who knows how to Soldier then one who is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on theology or religion. Chaplains are required to obtain a M-Div. in these areas not CAs. Of course a â€œboth andâ€
