Thanks
Thanks for the warm welcome.
I'd also like to thank RangerRon, Steadfast, RangerBill, Slowpoke, and any other Rangers who served during Vietnam for their service to my native country. You see, I was born in Saigon in '73 and my family and I were evacuated by the US Military less than 10 days before Saigon fell to the communists in '75. So, if it weren't for the sacrifice and service of guys like RR, Stead, RB, and SP, I'd probably grown up an orphan on the streets of Saigon (my father was an RVN Army Officer). Instead, I came to this great country and had the opportunity for a much better life.
I always felt like I owed a debt to the military because of this, so I went to West Point in order to repay that debt. A big part of my reason for volunteering for Ranger School was because I knew that it was a rite of passage for many of the soldiers who headed to Vietnam, and I wanted to follow in their footsteps. It was because of those soldiers that I have the opportunities I have, and I hope I've done them and my country proud through my service. Wherever such soldiers gather is a place where I am honored to be as well.

Re: Thanks
Some of us are still in touch with our counterparts. We last gathered at the Mountain Ranger Camp last summer. A fine time was had by all. We even have a memorial at Arlington National Cemetery:RangerEsq wrote:Thanks for the warm welcome.

Enjoyed the journal. We may want to post it as a sticky. Do you mind becoming an immortalized author?

Welcome Ranger, I haven't heard of a 'tabbed' MP before and it was interesting to read your journal.
