It is always reccommended to get checked out by a Physician before begining any strenous exercise program as well.
More advice. Get the best pair of running shoes you can afford and run till you puke....literally. Take a 5 minute break and run till you puke.....again. Then do it, again. and again.
If you are as serious about becoming a Ranger as you claim to be, running must became as much a part of your life as breathing.

Stretch.........I mean until you can lay your face inbetween your knees sitting on the ground with your legs right infront of you. This will help with the length of your stride. Also work on your hip flexors, this too will help the length and power of your stride.
good luck.
good luck.

Welcome to the site. I will second what Ranger RTO said... and add to it. Go to a specialty store like Fleet Feet, or the like. Have them do a Gait Analysis on you... to tell if you are a neutral runner, or if you pronate or supronate. Get the best shoes recommended by them, that you can afford, and pound the fuck out of the pavement. You really have to be able to run like the wind... but, it takes time to get there. Start easy, and wick up the intensity...
Best of luck!
Best of luck!

Hello Rangers,
Just a little update.
Ranger RTO, I finally timed my pushups, situps, and two mile run. I apologize for taking so long to do so, I guess I was just trying to postpone the shame as long as I could.
pushups - 41
situps - 34 (these bastards wear me out more than flutterkicks)
two mile run - 17m28s (some cadences I found online helped out bigtime here)
Also, I decided today to start doing 4-count flutterkicks. I was suprised myself by being able to make it to 50. My form started to go downhill rapidly after 40 though, so I guess I'll only really count to there. Anyways, I was really happy about this, I didn't think I would be able to do half as many.
Rangers, I know this information is more than laughable to you, and I don't know if you can imagine how embarrased I am at having to type in those numbers, but I felt the need to show that I am making progress, however small. That small difference is all I need to keep myself motivated. Oh, and all the threads roasting sorry sons of bitches such as myself for being such pussies, those help with the motivation, too. This site is a godsend. Thank you.
