You have to walk before you can run.LRS is a very specialised line of work.Do a couple of years in a line unit and learn your job first.

You could try talking to them and find out what types of skills they're looking for.....something you could work on while you get you're Infantry skills up to speed in your line unit......getting your Tab couldn't hurt!
I never wore a cape, but I still have my dog tags.

The detachment 1SG and I are friends and he has told me he won't take kids straight out of replacement. Once you've been in the Herd for a while and made a good name for yourself then you might have a shot.Slowpoke wrote:You could try talking to them and find out what types of skills they're looking for.....something you could work on while you get you're Infantry skills up to speed in your line unit......getting your Tab couldn't hurt!

Thank You.
Hey Wolfie, There is nothing wrong with wanting to be with the best. 1st, ya gotta learn to love doing the basic enthustically. Then showing that you are a leader with excellent map reading skills and the ability to call in arty effectively. Think for your men and make them the best they can be. A shining example is our own Mr. H8. He is truly a soldiers soldier.

I have to agree with the brothers here. time in a line company, especially one in combat is best before you go getting into a unit of this nature. I spent a year with the Herd in the bush before going to Charlie Rangers and I am glad I did as by the time I got to the Rangers I knew what to expect of myself in combat and my team respected that knowledge in me.
