Introducing myself

Post by jjrussll »

Hello, I'm John, 21 years old, graduated high school and 3 years of college.

I am enlisted as of December an 11x Contract with option 40. I ship out for basic training in February. I am grateful for all of you Rangers, and would be honored to become one myself.

I am here to take in as much information as I can about Rangers, and maybe ask a question here and there.

Congratulations for enlisting to become a Ranger. You are on a path to change your life in ways you can not imagine. Stay on that path and let nothing deter you.

addition

Post by jjrussll »

I'd like to add a bit more of myself, but did not see a way to edit my initial post. I apologize for the multiple posts.

When I first decided I wanted to join the US Army, I wanted to take a support MOS. I did very well on my ASVAB and could do anything I wanted. I though about intellegence and such, but then I realized that I wanted to lead and fight, and have the capacity to do so. I have been so pissed off for the past year or so about the cowards that challange our country. I found a motivation in myself to do whatever it takes to be most useful to my country. When I think about how bad I want to be a leader in the best Army in the best Country in the world, I wish I could leave for Basic tomorrow. It's not a title that I want, it's the trust of my fellows I want, to fight for them at all cost to myself.

I get so excited about the path I want for myself as a Ranger that I have to go run about 5 miles with 10 lb wrist weights to be able to settle down. For example, after I get done with this post I'm gonna have to go and run...seriously. The thought of becoming a Ranger gives me so much energy. I have to do it and I will not let myself fail.

Sorry if this was a bit much.

There is no way to edit posts in the introduction forums. That is by design, so that there is no way to take back words. Men that make asses of themselves litter the landscape of the Intro forums and serve as constant reminders to everyone else that the possibility of failure is ever-present and that there is no mercy for those that fall from the path.

Bad enough to do whatever it takes, and devote myself 110%, Ranger EvilCouch.

Some of the information I will be searching around this forum for is: ways to better prepare myself physically and mentally for Ranger School, whether or not it is necessary or wise to read the handbook before going, and Ranger stories from the bleakest situations to good cheer.

I also like the idea of retaining conversation and wisdom from individuals of as high a caliber as Rangers. I am truly honored to be allowed in your presence and will take everything you say as law.

Ranger School should be the last thing on your mind, you have plenty of time playing fuck-fuck games before you will need to think about that. You need to take things one step at a time, Basic, Airborne, RIP, then if you make it through them, then you can start woring about HOAH High.

Motivator!!

Seriously kid, you may think you're in good shape and you're going to breeze past everybody else in your training, let me tell you, you are going to be praying for the strength just to pick your foot up one more time, just to take one more step.

You will wonder "what in the fuck did I sign up for?!! In my wildest dreams I had no idea it would be this hard!! These guys are literally trying to kill me!!" This I absolutely fucking guarantee! You will know pain like you've never known in your entire life.

The best is...........that is just to get selected to Battalion. Then it gets harder.

Quit running your suck and go whack yourself in the nuts with a brick.
