Re-Introduction

Post by EuroBrat »

Rangers,

I was never informed on how to go about updating my status so I thought this to be the most appropriate manner. I am currently in my final week of Airborne School and will recieve my orders to my first duty station this thursday. I was originally an Option 40 but dropped that due to personal reasons. I will be reporting to an Airborne unit shortly after my graduation on the 3rd.

The only thing that sucks about that is, now instead of 4 month deployments, you coulb be facing 18 months. Hurry, run to patches and take it back.

Do what ya gotta do, good luck on your jumps.

ah WTF, he quit without trying.
At least we can still talk to him, he'll probably be a paratrooper soon.
And in any event, he'll be facing our nations enemies with the second string, but facing them nonetheless, so here's my 'welcome back' Eurobrat. Go give 'em hell EB, after you've earned your CIB & if you still have a taste for it, Regiment can use combat qual'ed NCOs too.

Rangers,

I'm sorry for leaving most of you hanging on what my 'personal reasons' were. I've been having a lot of problems back at home lately and I know that I lack the motivation and dedication required to make it through RIP at the present time. I just completed my first jump today and graduate airborne on Friday. I will move on to an Airborne unit and I will definatly try to attend ROP after I re-enlist.

Best of luck to you young man. Stay focused on the task at hand.

I hope you realize why some of my brothers are disappointed you didn't drive on to attend RIP. Completing RIP is all about exactly that - staying focused on the task at hand. It's not complicated. You just drive on and never quit.

In the end, you'll never know if you had what it takes. That's something that you will carry for the rest of your life - the doubt you'll always have about yourself. Don't worry, you'll have plenty of company wherever you are going. You see.... there are thousands of young men who quit every year to create a short new chapter in their lives. It always starts the same way; "I was almost a Ranger, but.....".

And every time a Ranger is present when such a story is told, when you are the storyteller, he will depart your company as quickly as possible because after we've heard one of them, they all start to sound the same after a while.

Anyway, thanks for serving our nation. I'm sure you'll do fine wherever you go.

I don't know you, but I must tell you: you are making a mistake.

Come on bro, suck it up and go to RIP, you still can go talk to them. If you don't do it now your never going to.

RIP is easy man, don't let the airborne school pussies make it out to be more than it is. It's only like a month long.

Well, in a month or so I expect you to have your scroll and be thanking me for the advice. Seriously, just knock it out.

Hey Spartan, your exactly right, I'll tell you another way we interact with them:

Visit the Poser Hunt Club. I bet 90% of those guys quit, but forgot that you don't get your scroll just cause you had an option 40.

Welcome to the site. Do what you have to do, and give yourself a pat on the back for at least doing something. Airborne school is a pretty good first step into the Army, so don't shortchange yourself.
