Son in RIP
Hi, my name is Jane and I am the proud parent of a soldier in RIP. He is into his third week and thought he was through with the worst, and then He failed a written exam. I think he called it a medical test. The instructors are allowing him to retake it, which is a relief-but I think He's a little freaked out that this could be a show stopper. My son is definately bright enough-but has aquired a bit of a exam phobia. Any thing you seasoned Rangers could offer in the way of advice that I could relay to him would be greatly appreciated. I'm feeling a little helpless and know how much he wants this. Thanks

"through the worst"? Hardly..
Hopefully, he gets over his examphobia cuz should he graduate, he might come down with a case of "multiplecombattour, harderthannails, notimeforyourwhinig, soelevateyourfeet, becauseIsaidso" phobia.
I'm sure your proud of your son and we thank him for his service but the standards are the standards. Hopefully, he can overcome his fears and complete the mission.
If not, the Regiment is not for everyone and each and every unit needs good folks.
Welcome by the way.

Welcome. I'm sure you are proud of your son. However, please allow me to point out that he is the one undergoing training. His success or failure are his and his alone. He is responsible for his actions and thank GRITS we have young men like him. RIP is only the beginning -- it just gets him in the door. Hopefully you raised a strong, independent son, because the hard part still lays ahead.
