SITREP

Post by Fennidh »

Rangers and others,

I should have posted this a couple weeks ago, I'll knock out 50 for that. I went up to MEPS and was rejected for failing the hearing test on the right side. The docs looked at it and found out I have a hole in my right tempanic membraine. So I go into surgery on Monday to fix it up. Its in a weird place so they have to knock me out and go in from behind the ear and whole bunch of other weird medical crap. Though after insurance its only going to run be about a grand. An then I should be good to go. I'll post another SITREP after I've gotten back up to MEPS. Oh also when I went up to MEPS I went with El_Pitbull, he got in and is good to go.

Rangers, the surgery went well. The Doc said the tissue graft is growing into the tempanic membrane nicely. In a week or two I can get back to full time PT, right now he has me just doing light PT so no pressure builds up in my head and blows the graft out. I still can't hear out of the ear well as there is packing material still packed behind the ear drum and it needs to dissolve before I'll pass the hearing test. I'll be heading up to MEPS as soon as he clears me to do so and I'm back doing enough PT to pass the choke and rope.

Here is a pic of the aftermath, http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n229 ... 01/EAR.jpg

Glad to hear you are healing. That is one ugly picture. Make he hurt to look at it.

Just remember when you take the airborne physical, you will be required to close your mouth and nose, then blow until your ears pop. Make sure your doctor knows this before he clears you. You don't want to blow a gasket.
