Looks good, but it's too bad about the Tab.

Ok, these staples are PISSIN' ME OFF!!!
I put on my bike jersey today, to take out my road bike. Knee felt fine, wanted to go test it out on some hill climbs.
I couldnt get past the fucking staples pulling on my jersey. So, fuck it... I rode without a shirt.
Now, I am sunburned.
Geez... I think I may get a pair of needle nosed pliers and pull them myself. HH6 says "Hell no you aren't. You are gonna do what the doc tells you, don't even THINK about it."
What do I say?
"Yes Ma'am."

Ranger Zonk... now that you mention it... I did ask the doc if I could get on the bike.. he said "Stationary bikes are the best thing after Orthoscopic knee surgery. I suggest that you spend some time on a bike."Zonk 1/75 wrote:Its important to get flexibility back in that knee as soon as possible but are you sure you should be pumping on that knee already?
I took that last statement... "spend some time on a bike" as the open permission to ride.
Dumbass me.
Well, I did about 45 miles... and just had to take a Motrin. I didn't feel any pain during my ride... and the bike DEFINATELY wasn't stationary... but, I feel a little soreness now.
So, Friday, when I go see the doc, I'm gonna tell him I did some riding, and now a little soreness.
I don't think anything tore... but, I guess I need to throttle back a bit. This not working out and not doing anything is really getting to me.

No More STAPLES!!!
Ok, just got back from the Bone Saw, and that fucking LITTLE HITLER of a Physical Therapist I have... all the staples are gone, left is a wicked scar. The Tab on my Tatt isn't messed up at all... so, the Doc escaped some remedial P.T. this morning.
Here's the low down...
My knee is coming along well. I got my ass chewed for taking my road bike out the other day... not for the knee, but for the Collar Bone.
I am cleared to start teaching my SPIN class again, Cleared to walk, Cleared to deep-six the sling holding my right arm, and cleared to rub as many out as I possibly can... (good rotator cuff exercise).
What I CAN'T do...
Lift anything over 24 oz. with my right arm...
Ride my road bike...
Ride my Mtn Bike (this seriously pissed me off)
Ride my Motorcycle for at least a month... NO SHIT!
Push ups, Run, Ruck, anything weight bearing on my right side...
So... at least I can SPIN. As for the Collar Bone... the hardware is staying in (for now) so the Bone Graft will heal. I lived for almost two years with this fucker grinding around inside... now that the screws are there... I have some stability. I can't do any pushups or bench presses, etc... for quite a while...
But the fucking Physical Therapist... geezus... working on the Tendonitis, brought tears to my eyes. When he started digging on the Tendon, I almost passed out. Can't relate to you how that shit hurts...
Recovery road is gonna be three to six months... but, 100% recovery expected. As long as my hard headedness stays leashed, and follow the PT regimin the Nazi has me on.
So, here's the before...

Here's the AFTER...

Surgery Update (With Pictures)
GSXRanger wrote:Ok... time for the knife. Goin tomorrow to get an old Collarbone break, fixed. Apparently, it never healed. So, now they have to do a re-section, bone graph and put a plate on it. While the surgeon is at it, he's gonna go into my right shoulder, and fix the two tears I have in my rotator cuff. After that, he is moving south, to my left knee... I have a torn MCL and a torn LCL with partial tears in my ACL. Also, two flap tears in the Meniscus...
20 years of jumping, carrying heavy rucks, running, mtn biking, knee dragging, and general abuse has caught up with me... but, I have the best Sports Medicine Ortho here in the Monterey area... he says I should be back to normal in no time...
Wish me luck...
