DEP Introduction
Hello, my name is Justin and I am a 22 year old from Atlanta, GA. I am currently a bartender at a restaurant where I live. I graduated High School in 2003 and have not gone to college yet. I enlisted in the Army about a month and half ago with an 11x Option 40 contract. I am very excited and proud of my decision and am looking forward to the coming years. I am aware that the training I will be going through in OSUT, Airborne School, and R.I.P. will not be easy. I have been preparing as best I can, mentally and physically. I have been running, swimming, and doing pushups, sit-ups and flutter kicks almost everyday. Growing up, I was always very active in sports and such. Re: DEP Introduction
Justin, a man has one opportunity to make a favorable initial impression. You succeeded. Please allow me to point out a few things to do while you are waiting to head South to Benning School for Boys:
1. Do lots of PT. Run, run, run.
2. Read the Ranger Creed; think about what it means to be a Ranger.
3. Read all the FAQs, stickies, and selected threads. Remember that the search button is your friend. There are very few new questions -- just about every one has been raised here. Resist the urge to hit the submit button.
4. Being a little guy who is strong is good. In my experience the larger they are, the harder they fall. My Ranger class started with a fair number of College football players, most did not complete the course due to recurring injuries.
5. Welcome...

Whoa! A depper that actually found and then followed SOP for introductions. Justin, you now have all the knowledge you could possibly need to reach your goal. It's up to you to make use of it, listen, learn, PT your fucking ass off and DO NOT QUIT!
