Hi all, I’m prior service. I enlisted in 1989 went to Ft. Sill for basic and AIT graduated as a 93F (field artillery meteorologist). I was then assigned to the 194th Armored Brigade at Ft. Knox. The 194th disbanded shortly after and I was sent to HHB DIVARTY 1st ID at Ft. Riley. I then served in Operation Desert Shield and Storm with the 1st ID. After the war I got out and now 12 years later I’m going back in on April 27th as an 11X. I hope to be given a chance to attend RIP or airborne.

Field Artillery Meteorological Crewmen monitor weather conditions so the Army's artillery units can fire and launch missiles accurately. Here are some of the duties for this job: operate meteorological equipment, prepare electrical generators for operation; operate electrical generators; assemble, test and adjust transmitters.WHAT THE HELL DOES A METEOROLIGIST (Fuck I can't even spell it) DO IN THE ARMY?
I basically would send up weather balloons and get the wind speed, direction etc. and send this information to FDC so they could tell the artillery how to adjust their guns. I was in the field with the artillery.
