Intro from Ft. Worth Texas

Post by TCU FROG »

Hello Rangers and other members of the site. As per SOP, here is my introduction to the site.

I am a prior service cadet currently attending Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth Texas. I entered the U.S. Army in 1998 and following Basic, AIT, and Airborne school I was sent to the 112th SIG BN (ABN) at Ft. Bragg where I was a commo guy for the rest of my 4 years on active duty. Being a support guy in a spec-ops unit I got to see some of the great things that Rangers and SF teams are capable of doing. After four years of active duty and making SGT, I left the military for college where I joined the ROTC program and am about to graduate and be comissioned as a 2LT on 12 May. I was branched Signal Corps with a 48 month branch detail of Infantry. I am excited to have the opportunity to lead soldiers once again.

I start IOBC on 21 May and have orders for the 173rd (ABN) in Italy after I finish my time at Benning. I have enjoyed reading many of the posts on this forum for several months and in case I have any questions about Ranger school or other various topics that I cannot find on the forum I will be sure to ask.

Welcome and thanks for your service. There is an excellent thread here regarding one young stud's journey through IOBC.

You have absolutely no idea how fucking lucky you are to be going to Italy.

Drop me a line when you find out what battalion you're going to...as a friend of mine from platoon leader days is taking over one of the battalions next summer.

Boy, are you in for some first class mentorship!

Welcome.

Welcome.

Ranger CHCB, I signed on for an extra 3 years (7 total) to get into the 173rd. ROTC now offers cadets guarenteed branch, duty assignment for 3 years, or guarenteed grad school if the cadet agrees to sign an additional 3 year service obligation in addition to the 3,4 or 5 years that he/she is already obligated to serve. I always wanted to go to the 173rd; now is my chance.
