New Guy...AIRBORNE!!!
Hey, just wanted to say I'm glad to be apart of this website, looking forward to learning from Rangers/Soldiers Old and New.
My name is John. I'm a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. Currently stationed in MacDill AFB, FL with the Joint Communications Support Element.
A little bit about myself. I'm 26, and originally from the Washington, DC and Northern Neck area of Virginia.
Joined the army March 19, 1998, went to BCT at Fort Jackson, SC for 8 weeks. I went to Fort Gordon, GA for AIT, 36 weeks of learning Satellite Communications. I graduated from AIT in February 1999.
Stationed in Stuttgart, Germany from March 1999 to March 2004 in the following units/commands:
587th Signal Company (Mar.-May99/Jul-Nov99)
MILSTAR Operator/Maintainer
SOCEUR Signal Detachment (May-Jul 99 Augmentee) (Nov99-Apr02)
SCAMPI Operator/Maintainer
SOCEUR Signal Detachment, 112th Signal Batallion (Apr02-Mar04)
SOF Deployable Node Operator/Maintainer
Joint Communications Support Element, MacDill AFB (Jun04-Present)
Satellite Systems Operator/Maintainer.
Attended the International Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol Medics Course in Pfulendorf, Germany in July 2000.
Attended Basic Airborne Course in October 2000. Currently have 33 Jumps logged.
Attended Primary Leadership Development Course in Grafenwoehr, Germany May 2001.
Attended Basic Non-Commissioned Officers Course at Fort Gordon, GA Mar-May 2004.
I am divorced, and have no children. I am physically active and enjoy life to the fullest.
