Army Awards

I have a friend that just graduated from Basic/AIT in Ft. Benning, GA(Feb 06), and in his graduation photo he is wearing three Army ribbons? Can anyone advise which ribbons can be worn by new graduates besides the Armed Service ribbon? Is everyone authorized to wear these additional ribbons?

National Defense Service Medal

Global War on TERRORISM Service Medal

He's legit. It's a free for all nowadays with awards. Everyone is a French General.
