Jumping in Ranger School?
I've been asked by many Cadets if it is better to go to ABN school after Ranger school to avoid injuries. My advice is always "Look here retard, if you're going through the training, then get all the training you can. ABN first and Ranger School second". Am I close to the mark, or am I lost in the sauce? Any advice for a non-Ranger to pass on to these future leaders? Thank you.

Airborne first. Ranger next, if they got what it takes. But above all, Infantry.
As an NCO, your question seems like a something a DEP would ask. I'm taking back my "welcome" to your intro post and making it "tentative."

Exactly, Chad, the leg platoon got all the attention while we had to get some rest. No, think the abn school before Ranger School is the right order of things.Horned Toad wrote:shit no because the legs had the details while other rested or got ready to jump, my favorite was when they gave you the 5 hrs sleep before a jump and then the jump got canceled :DRRDTm3 wrote:i would have paid big bucks to have been a leg in Ranger school

You guys hear the legend about the Allied officer who, when asked after graduation what the hardest part of the course was, replied
"The jumping."
"Jumping? All the stuff you had to put up in Ranger school, why was it you found the jumping so hard?"
"Because I had never done it before!"
Legend says when they told everyone to fall out for airborne refresher, home slice just followed along, figured it was all part of the course.
If that damn story ain't true, it ought to be!

1SG Lane told a story of when he was an RI at Mountains. they had an African officer that didn't speak a lick of English. He went through pre-jump, rig, etc. they tailgated a 47. got the guy up, threw him out, 1SG Lane said last he saw this guy, he was trying to climb back up his static line. came to find out he was a leg and got a tab and jump wings when he left.CHCB wrote: You guys hear the legend about the Allied officer who, when asked after graduation what the hardest part of the course was, replied
