SA 80 Mags?

Hey Gang,

I heard on another forum that this guy got SA-80 mags for his M4 because they're more reliable. Will these even fit in an M4 or is this guy full of shit? Thanks in advance.

That's a weapon I have not heard mentioned in a while. British I believe. I have used it a few times. I don't know the answer to your question becouse (that's NY for because) I don't have one to try it out in. I liked the sa-80 when I fired it. Good question though and I would be interested to hear the results.

I saw a pic of a 40 round Britsh mag, that would fit in an AR, that all the info I have though

IMHO the older SA-80 mags with the 2 piece floorplate marked RADWAY GREEN are of lower quality than USGI type mags. However, the brits purchased a number of the HK m4 mags that are black teflon coated steel that are heavier and supposedly work flawlessly. Can't say myself because the HK's run around 50 bucks each. Recently I have seen some knock off mags made of steel (heavy) and finished in black (fake HK) at gun shows for less but don't know much about them.

Those HK mags are the heat. I highly recommend 'em.

I seen them up close and they are well made, but pricey, I was thinking if you had some regular mags in your pouches that worked and then maybe 2 HK mags that you had camoed up and used to keep in the gun while patrolling or whatnot

I know that the H&K M4 mags work. I had one in the sandbox and kept it packed with ammo even though I used the 28 in a 30 rule. It functioned perfectly every time I needed it to both on the range fuckin' around and on the road in anger. Sand, dirt and grease did not matter. H&K mags are what I primarily use even if they are $50 a piece and I have to leave them in theatre when going home. It's definately worth the money instead of having to use issued mags and SPORTS when the shit hits the fan.
