Fuck Pittsburg you got a cheap victory over my Bengals, and no it was not a cheap shot. Just made the game a lot eaiser.
DENVER? CAROLINA?

I DON'T FUCKEN THINK SO!

Denver....got their ass kicked by a much better team....

Carolina....OWNED!

Actually, I think my beloved Seachickens are going to have their hands full with Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl, but I'll stick with Seattle by 3....they've got the best defense against the run in the NFL.

On the eve of the big game, I guess my Parish Priest summed it up so well this week:

[quote]

A STEELER NATION!!!

Think about this the next time someone argues that a professional sports franchise is not important to a city’s identity. In the 1980’s, as the steel mills and their supporting factories shut down from Duquesne to Midland, Pittsburghers, faced for the first time in their lives the specter of unemployment, were forced to pick up their families, leave their hometowns and move to more profitable parts of the country. The steel workers were not ready for this. They planned to stay in the Burgh their entire lives. It was home.
Everyone I know can tell you the same story about how Dad, Uncle Bob or their brother- in- law packed a U haul and headed to Tampa, Boston, North Carolina or California for a new job. At the same time in the early 80’s, the Pittsburgh Steelers were at the peak of their popularity. Following the Super Bowl dynasties, the power of the Steelers was strong. Every person from parts of 4 states were Pittsburgh faithful living and breathing day to day of the news of this team. Then, as now it seemed to be all we talked about. Who will the Steelers draft? Is Bradshaw done? Can you believe Franco is going to Seattle? Did you hear Myron Cope’s new Christmas carol?

The last memories of unemployed steel workers were home towns with black and gold tinge. The good time remembered seemed to revolve around a football team. Sneaking away from your sister’s wedding reception to go to the bar and watch the game against Earl Campbell and the Oilers – going to midnight Mass, and then you and your grandfather, both crying at the sight of the Chief finally holding the Lombardi Trophy.

And then the mills closed. One of the unseen benefits of the collapse of the value system our families believed in - that the mill would look after you through thick and thin. And now decades later, there is not a town in America where a Pittsburgher cannot feel at home. Nearly every city in the United States has a designated Black and Gold establishment, with Iron City, chipped ham and yinzers. It’s great to know that no matter what happened in the lives of our Steel City refugees, they never forget the things that held us together as a city – family, food and the Steelers. It is what we call “The Steeler Nation.â€

I just hope Cowher doesn't fuck up the play callin. Because it might come down to coaching and if it does I have to give the nod to Mike.

But fuck the seahawks, I can't stand those motherfuckers..... With their Brokeback fuckin Uniforms.

The one thing I hate about the superbowl is.............. that's the end of the football season.

OK....gotta admit, my Seachickens got beat up by a MUCH better team. The hardest part was that they got out coached too!

All hail the Pittsburgh Stealers!
