While I did appreciate the sentiment of the link, we do need to remember that despite what the media potrays, the public is far and away more behind our military than at any time in our Nation's history. We have a Nation that is absolutely devoted to it's soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines and I am proud of them. As a Nation, we've just passed a defense budget which is almost ten times that of any singular nation in the world, at a record $453 billion plus addendums for emergency appropriations for the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. The economy is still incredibly strong despite the strain of this on-going war and the hit's from an attack on our shores and not one but two hurricaines and numerous other natural disasters which have hit us over the past few years. American's have shown the ability to stand firm economically against an attack against their nation on a military and economic front. We live in the most amazing Nation in the history of mankind and despite what the media would have us believe, our leader's, our military and our people are all fairing incredibly well.
Outstanding Post SB. It's good to put things in perspective. I truly wish our media would show more responsibility when airing a story and tell the entire truth not looking for the 'If it bleeds it lead's mentality' or the 'Scandal Sales' mindset. Though it does seem to track and market well, I do believe that the American people are indeed sick of it. It has proven to be so in the polls and in election cycles. Those politicians who've played this game have found themselves unemployed and the "big three" networks have fallen off the charts to cable news networks. And even cable news networks, not learning from these mistakes are starting to feel heat from "purer" sources of truthful news.
