Someone just gave me a copy of the Kong DVD, will watch it this weekend (if it is a good copy) though it's probably one for the bigs screens.

Just caught up with a few movies that have been out a while and I missed:-

We Were Soldiers - excellent movie, best I've seen in a while and you can tell alot of advice and direction went into it from those that know their stuff (Lt. Gen Moore (ret.) etc...)

Collateral - good change from normal action films... some good realistic moments and good weapon drills (well done McNabb and Mick Gould)

Million Dollar Baby - I enjoyed it, didn't expect the story to take the road it did and have that ending...but a good story of guts and determination.

Also, Jarhead has just come out over here, I've read the book, so going to go see that at some point - worth it?

Jarhead is from a shitbird's point of view who makes claims that he never earned. While I have not seen it, from the reviews on this site, from senior Marines and Marine retirees that I know, I would not recommend it.

I took my four children to the "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" from the Chronicles of Narnia last week. I read the books as a child as have my older kids, so we were jazzed to see the movie.

My 5 year old son and my 7 year old daughter said they were not scared, though I must admit, the wolves made me jump a time or two! It is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time and the special effects were outstanding. It ran about 2.5 hours.

Bought the Great Raid oin DVD. Been waiting to see it. I wanted to see it in the theater but they never played it around here. Well The movie was ok but I really expected a lot more from it. I mean it was one of the greatest missions ever and I just thought the movie didn't do it enough justice. Maybe my expectations were too high. It was a decent movie but I just thought it was a Great story and the movie should have matched. The cheesy DVD cover should have clued me in but had to buy it. Worth renting though.

My 5 year old loved it. We had read the book a few months before the movie came out...then she saw it advertised and she had to see it. I thought it would be too long for her but she sat there with her hands folded watching the entire thing. I couldn't believe it was my child!!!

Same here. As bad as I hate to say it, compared to the story, the movie sucked. The movie Blackhawk Down caused my wife so much stress, she was ill. She slept through this one.

Rangers, if you get the chance, there is a great "Heroes under Fire" documentary on the History Channel about the Great Raid. I knew little about this part of Ranger history until my son and I watched this show when it premiered in November.

We recently saw this as well.... great movie. Although, I have yet to see a movie starring Clint I haven't liked.

Anyone planning on seeing that new movie Quentin Tarantino produced--"Hostel"?

   One review said it was the "Scariest movie of the decade."

Been waiting for Underworld II myself. Kate Beckinsale and Scott Speedman were good in the first one.

Just saw "Munich".

Not a great movie, but a good movie. I would give it a "B".
