But you NEVER WENT to Ranger school.
'Playing army' with a Ranger unit isn't the same, although it must've seemed that way to you.

We were in during the same era, & you're right, the culture of Mr Carters army sucked, but that doesn't mean that by being stationed near Rangers made you one - and there wasn't a BAC at Lewis.
Remember the era you were in? Right - no money then either, they didn't waste airborne school slots nor TDY monies on anyone not enroute to an airborne slot. & certainly not on privates in 9th Division.
You lie.
Read all you want, but post somewhere else. and make no effort to contact me.
Just to add to this, I was opfor all the time with two Rangers and a Force guy who had moved over to St. Barbara's side. We did, what I thought at the time, was a lot of 'high-speed' shit. That doesn't mean that I was a Ranger or Force Recon, just that I worked with them and learned a few skills. I also went through a Stinger training course with a few SF guys, but I was still an Arty guy in a fucking fat-ass leg unit. My point is you might have worked/trained with the high-speed guys, but you were not one of them. Also, I'm no Ranger history specialist, but the only other thing that might be considered as another Ranger school might be Recondo. That was before your time; Ranger's Slowpoke, Steadfast, Hobbit, and others could clear that up incase there is a misunderstanding.

Whatever your intent, you really fucked up with the above and your short time here will not be pleasant, there are other military forums out there I suggest you join one of those and drop the mention of Ranger training.

I just read back through the entire thread, and this guy is unbeleivable. He has attempted to turn the most blatant lies into a simple missunderstanding of terms, and side steps the facts of what he said. It wouldnt suprise me if he has been telling this lie for so many years now he has convinced himself he really did do all these things.

Lets make a couple things clear:

1. No person who went to do Ranger task training would then think it is alright to call themselves a Ranger.

2. No Ranger would give a guy a tab for being able to keep up with them, and the recipient would certanly not think they were then somehow Ranger qualified.

3. No one who went to do Ranger type training in 1979 would assign a class number to it.

Show this clown the door.

And you want to insist that my discription of Army life was "Bullshit"?
If you went in, in 89 then you were about 10 years old when I got out.
Just a guess . But interesting to me.
Hey, motherfucker, I came in the Army in 77 (and I'm still IN the fucking Army) and I don't remember getting any fucking hassles over it. And if you had BEEN IN the FUCKING RANGER BATTALION you would not have noticed any transformation, cuz it was just the FUCKING LEGS who were sucking.

Always be wary of the "I was in uniform when you were in diapers" line, because there's always somebody older than you who will slap you upside the head with it.

By the way, just to keep the history straight, the upturn in defense spending started in the end of the Carter administration, when old Peanuthead finally figured out there was evil in the world.

Oh, I forgot,

Fuck you for trying to appear to something you weren't.

If this guy will come on to this site and try to tell you RANGER's that he was one of you. Even go as far as he did to try to convince some. Imagine what he tells his friend, family and co-workers. :(

Carter? He gave us Desert One and gave away the Panama Canal.

Congress pays us and our oath is to the Constitution of the USA. Presidents come and go; but the Army and the soldier is there for the long term.
