You're right...I don't expect to get all the nuances right, nor do I expect to 'capture' the feel of military life. I do wish to get as many details as correct as I can.

I'm using Ranger characters because I felt that that was what the story demanded and what I thought would be interesting for the reader to read and for me to write.

I do not personally feel that women should be in combat and therefore none of my characters are women. I'm not trying to write a social commentary. I'm writing a thriller.

Well, if you don't know what a Ranger is, why do you want to develop a story around one?

Xaphon, if truly that is the extent of your writing ability the only thing you will be writing is your responses in the blanks of the application at your local McDonald's but don't let it get you down... I've heard rumors that there are other's like you, the dingleberries of the world who hope for greater life fulfillment.

I'd really be carefull of beginning to display such smartass witicism's in your responses, do not let the kindness of my first post fool you into thinking we are buddies, friends or that I want to fuck your wife.
