You're right...I don't expect to get all the nuances right, nor do I expect to 'capture' the feel of military life. I do wish to get as many details as correct as I can.

I'm using Ranger characters because I felt that that was what the story demanded and what I thought would be interesting for the reader to read and for me to write.

I do not personally feel that women should be in combat and therefore none of my characters are women. I'm not trying to write a social commentary. I'm writing a thriller.
Well, if you don't know what a Ranger is, why do you want to develop a story around one?

Clemen's you are becoming a series of clusterfuck's all rolled into one big Kansas City bitch slapping... You are to me all that a practice target at a range would be with my ex-wife's picture on it, think about it for a little while.

tripped over my tongue again...my apologies.
As for you, I sit here wondering how it is that you would have the audacity to come into our home asking for anything, judging anyone when you have done nothing? I also wonder why is it that you threw your kid's in the mix? Was it because you thought we would show you mercy or so you would actually yourself remember that at least in this world where your woman would forget you existed, you would have the rememberance that for at least a little while you had the chance to pretend you were a man....

Give me three good reason's anyone on here should assist you with anything. Fuck it, I actually believe that you are one of those dingleberries that hang from the ass of life and I think that must have been a heavy burden-so given your excruciating life circumstance and since it's Christmas, just give me one good reason...

Oh, one other thing; there have been many women who've done heroic, patriotice, and oitherwise great things in combat for this nation. (For the record, they don't belong in the Infantry).

Thanks for your time. Whether or not you believe I mean it, thanks for doing the job that you do. Not many can do it and if I meet you in a bar sometime I’d be honored to buy you a drink or three.

Xaphon, if truly that is the extent of your writing ability the only thing you will be writing is your responses in the blanks of the application at your local McDonald's but don't let it get you down... I've heard rumors that there are other's like you, the dingleberries of the world who hope for greater life fulfillment.

I'd really be carefull of beginning to display such smartass witicism's in your responses, do not let the kindness of my first post fool you into thinking we are buddies, friends or that I want to fuck your wife. I don't think I even fucking like you and I am actually having to control the desire I have to throat punch your Disney-assed character like ass for coming on here and showing such disrespect within the first 8 pages. It takes at least 9 pages for most to even to begin to learn to tolerate you.

Have you received any PM's from anyone offering any advise on how to behave? Have you read around the board at all to find out who has a good persona and who is or isn't approachable for your, what so far have amounted to mindless questions? I'd offer to you that perhaps you should before posting too much more. As you are coming dangerously close to having the door shut in your face, your access denied and one of the finest sources of Rangering and the Ranger lifestyle shut off to you indefinately. I am pretty close to giving you the now famous, "Fuck Off" myself.

Finally, as far as you buying me a drink or three-Dude, I don't think you'd like that. More than likely, you'd end up broke, your ass beat and wishing you'd decided to write about soccer camp, the girlscout's or some other aspect of life you actually knew something about... But thanks anyway.

Read more, post less...
