Former Marine Recon Opt 40

Allright so since this site helped me so much I would like to give back with information I obtained form the recruiter, and the counsler today.

The cousler stated he would be willing to give me an option 40 with 91W since I have the expierience I do.

They explained to me the Army actually isnt even offering the Opt 40 to anyone let alone prior service except in special circumstances, such as mine.

I put in my Grade determination which they said will take approx 4-6 weeks. I hope I retain my E-5. My DOR is 06/01 so technically I have 4.5 years TIG. I also have 124hrs of college credit.

So that is where I am now.

I cant tell you how happy it makes me to know I am going to get the chance to earn the title Ranger. To top that off I get the medic side, and I also am going to the Ranger Batt. Everything I wanted.

They are checking on a bomus for me, but to be honest I dont really give a shit about the money. If I did I would saty a cop and make 80G+ a year in five years. We have to do what is in our hearts or regret for all of eternity.

Enough talk I have a long way to go before I am ready for Ranger school. Time to run and starting pushing.

You need to be wary of that shit until you got it on paper.

This guy is telling you you can have whatever you want and the grade det. hasn't even gone forward?

What if 91W says no E-5, 4, or 3 slots? Then what?

If you get that option 40 come back, scan your reservation sheet and we'll keep it in this forum for professional development.

, I thought it was obvious that I was tryin to make a joke Stead. Since my assumption of you bringing SFC_Hit into the situation was to allow our Recon friend the opportunity to confirm that what he was told by his recruiter was in fact "true".
