Diesel SITREP

Post by Diesel »

Mornin' to all the Rangers. Graduated OSUT yesterday with A co. 1/19th, on leave until 2 JAN when Airborne kicks back up. My Airborne start date is the 23 JAN, according to my orders, but my platoon was lucky enough to have a Black Hat training with us (reclassing), so he's attempting to move some of the guys including myself up to the 5 JAN class. Going to maintain PT over Exodus (pulled down a 264 for record PT, only really hurting in P/Us).

The whole thing wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. I went in thinking FMJ and came out thinking "that's it?". I'm sure RIP will fuck me a new asshole though so I'll save the disappointment for later.

Thanks to all the Rangers and Soldiers who provided advice information, it makes the transition from POS to Soldier that much easier.

Basic training is kind of a joke these days. And to be honest, it was kind of a joke when I went thru also.

I took the time to both enlarge and enbold some of your words. Do not for 1 second believe this statment - completely push it out of your mind. There is no room for failure - failure is quitting, quitting is unacceptable.

Congratulations for passing OSUT Soldier
Enjoy the holidays, eat good, have sex, stay out of trouble.

Ranger Steadfast, I meant my disappointment with the (lack of) harshness in BCT/AIT, not from failing out.

Roger that on the sex and food though. It'll be a Christmas to remember.

You better keep your head on straight now that you will be treated with a little less restriction. Airborne School is a joke, but you still have to make it through it. Then comes the little kick in the balls, commonly referred to as RIP. That's where you will see what you are made of.

Realize that from here on out all of your military career is going to be you proving to yourself that you can suck everything up, while keeping your ass out of trouble.

Don't lose focus now and for fuck's sake, don't ever quit. We could all do it, so can you.

Great job becoming a Soldier. Enjoy your time off and wrap your shit when you hit it.
