Eleven X-ray

Post by Silverback »

Ranger Silverback,
Eleven X-ray here, we just finished qualification for BRM and are starting week-6. I got stuck in the infirmary for week-4 with pneumonia, fever and tonsilitis so I missed alot of BRM. I made some stupid mistakes at qulification but managed to get Sharpshooter, though I am not particularly happy about that.

From what I understand we are just doing more BRM this next week with CCOs and PAQ-4s.

As a platoon we are kicking the crap out the company with our PT score (227), but my score needs a lot of improvement.

Other than that there isn't much going on here at the moment, basic is more fun than I thought it would be, the really bad stuff has pretty much been non-existant since we got out of total control.

Thank you for your time

Rangers, sorry for the lack of SITREPS. I'm not much of a letter writer and today is our first pass (5 hours, week 11). Things are going pretty well here, we rest up or something, not entirely sure this coming week and then it is off to FTX. A lot of hurry up and wait, which I expected, but not quite this much. All in all we tend to get about 10 minutes of actual training time a day and the rest of the day we are sitting and waiting for the rest of the company.

I'm staying motivated and focused on RIP, my biggest hurdle is my run time, which I've always had problems with. Sledge Hammer is going to help me with that once we get to airborne, hopefully I'll improve as much as I need to.

Thats all I have for now, I know Sledge Hammer will give you a SITREP if he can, but right now he is in the line for milk shakes and the line for this place is pretty long, so who knows.

Thanks again Rangers, looking forward to trying out for the team.

Well, Sledge Hammer and I graduated yesterday..... they are pushing all the 18x's through for airborne so we are looking at a long holdover. Currently we are in hold to go to hold, so it is pretty ridiculous, however, we got a 4 day pass so it's not all bad.

I'll check in again when I have some more training info for you all, sounds like it might be a while, just more time to get in shape for RIP though.

Thanks again, Rangers.

Congrats to both of you! You'll enjoy your next phase (after you get out of hold for hold for hold for hold  ). Jump School is a kick in the ass. Have fun, don't forget to PT on your spare time, and keep your knees to the breeze.

Good news, They got us into a condensed class (2.5 weeks) before the holidays. We just finished up ground week and will be graduating on Nov. 22nd.

There is RIP class starting on the 26th that we may get into, if not we will start up in January some time.

On a side note, we dropped over 100 people the first day of airborned because of PT, a drill sgt or two among them, have to admit that made me happy...

Anyway, staying motivated and focused on the real goal here, thanks again Rangers!
